KC Rock Band & Guitar is a small music school looking to hire a drum teacher to join our team beginning May 1.  The position is to teach private lessons on Monday evenings, between 4:00-8:30pm, with a 30-minuute break in the middle of the evening.
We’re looking for a drum teacher that loves to teach and share music with a wide range of ages and levels. We have brand-new beginners up through advanced students. This position would also team-teach a student rock band as part of their teaching night.   We are a fun school that believes that anyone can enjoy and learn music. 

What we’re looking for:

Required:

  • Love of music and sharing it with kids and adults
  • Patient, warm personality
  • Working knowledge of basic concepts in a variety of genres–including pop, rock, jazz, and modern church worship music. 
  • Rhythm reading
  • Timeliness

Preferred:

  • Teaching experience
  • Music degree or formal training

This job is perfect for you if you are punctual, organized, and like to teach kids and adults, and would like to teach for at least year or longer. 

This job is not great for you if you don’t have a consistent schedule.

   This is an independent contractor position.  Pay is $26 per hour.   The school owner does all the advertising, booking, scheduling, billing, receiving tuition, ordering books, communication with clients, set up and tear down.  Teachers get to focus on teaching!  

   We rent teaching space from Evangel Church, at 1414 E 103rd St. Kansas City, MO 64133.  (Near the Grandview Triangle).
